I was just looking on the internet and happened to stumble across this site which was created in 2012. The site Read Works.org, is an American site which is related to their common core standards but it has some great ideas that could also be used in Australia. The focus of the site is on reading and in particular comprehension. The site has specific reading passages you can print out which are aligned to certain comprehension strategies. This site could be used in conjunction with all the other things we do for comprehension including read alouds, vocabulary work etc.
It is a FREE site, however you do need to register.
