I absolutely love this app! It has been designed for the ipad.

The record of reading was created by Marie Clay and allows for observation and analysis of a child’s reading.
This app allows you to take the running record (you will need a stylus), and when the errors and self corrections have been analysed it will calculate the record for you. It allows you to create multiple folders (one for each child) and you can email the record as a PDF. It also allows you to record the child reading, this would be fantastic for recording fluency and analysing strategies the child is using.
I would use the box titled (enter statement of child’s reading here), to record comprehension responses for the text. It is vital that we always check for understanding of the text as well as decoding strategies. If a child can not understand what they are reading what is the point?

I agree this app is wonderful. I love the fluency calculation and like having the ability to have a recording attached to the record. It will be a useful tool for RTI discussions of individual students. Can anyone tell me how to delete an error if accidentally recorded?
To remove an error you tap and hold your finger on the error and it will disappear. Hope that makes sense lol

I love this app too!
I sure would love to be able to e mail the voice recordings along with the PDF. Unfortunately there is no way to back this app up. My I pad had to be reset and ALL of my R and R’s were deleted. I spoke with the creators and they said that they are working on this. I still use the app all the time… With my fingers crossed
Thanks so much for this Kelly! So excited to take it to placement tomorrow and show everyone!!
Hope all is well!
Hi Amy, I am well I hope that everything is going well for you!
